I ordered one of these for my front and back door, extremely happy with them. It’s a very good product that works well. I don’t know what I did before them. The motion detection works very well, the picture provided is excellent quality, and the batteries last a long time. The ring customer service department is very helpful, and their online information is very easy to read and very helpful.

I love this so much I bought another one for my backdoor. I can now be away and see what is going on at my home at all times. I have an arlo system that I would never recommend. Just get a Ring!

The ring bell works just as advertised and even have a feature called neighbors where you connect and share ring videos like stolen packages or someone breaking in. There was a moment where I saw a lady that was heavily drugged and moved like she was really uncomfortable and it looked like a zombie film. Anyways the problem is that I bought the ring bell for the front of the house but my wifi doesn’t reach that far. So I settled with attaching the bell to my side door that nobody but a select few knows about so I have to call attention to that door in order to get people to actually use the bell. But other than that motion sensors are good and with a subscription you can save your videos from the bell.

I love that the set up was quick and easy. I allowed the battery to charge overnight. The next morning, I set it up before work. Instructions were pretty straightforward. I didn't use the mounting kit. I opted for another one that was recommended under the doorbell listing. I have enjoyed the added protection of this ring camera. I will be adding on an indoor chime to use upstairs in my bedroom. I'm also considering an echo to tie into the bundle.

I bought this as an upgrade to the Ring Doorbell 2020 release. It was easy to setup and install as it is with all ring products. Once setup though, the video quality was terrible. I called customer support and tried some troubleshooting. Customer support was great but nothing worked. Eventually they came to the conclusion of sending a replacement. After about a week and a half my replacement arrived and it was setup and working perfectly in no time. With the functioning camera installed I can say it is a major upgrade from the 2020 release. As far as the product itself (when functioning properly) I would say it is worth the price. Motion detection is great and the pre-roll feature is awesome. Would recommend.

I am disabled, so when someone comes to the door, it takes me a good while just to get up with my walker walk to the door see who it is what they want I can’t stand for any amount of time. I finally got my son-in-law to put this up for me yesterday I love it. I can talk to my grandson when he’s outside playing I can talk to people at the door without having to get up the motion. Detector works well at night I can see good. my daughters trailer is straight across from our home and I could see her front door so if there’s something going on I can see over there this is going to be so helpful. I highly highly recommend it I’ve thought about getting one for my back door just for protection so if the motion sensor goes off, don’t wait if you’re considering getting one of these especially now with the reduced in. Price for the holidays don’t white get it

I bought this to replace a 1st generation RING doorbell and the improvement is honestly shocking. Obviously I expected it to be better being that it's newer but the improvement - specifically in night vision and battery life - was honestly surprising. I was also impressed by the improved performance in cold weather. I live in central MN and this RING will continue to perform in even the coldest weather when my remaining 1st generation RING won't work. Wifi strength is about the same as 1st generation.

I have had it set up and Working for over a Month and my battery has only used 25%, So the Battery life is Amazing! My Wifi is ok where I live but the camera hasn't faulted once! The features are Amazing! The picture quality is perfect! Like a 4K HD Camera! The things you can do in the app or on ring.com made me subscribe. It lets you control the camera to what setting suits your House. The motion sensor is very fast, within 2 seconds I am notified if someone has triggered the Motion Sensor and it hasn't missed one person. And being able to check the camera Live anytime is an excellent feature. I don't have street lights where I live and the Camera on Night mode picks up everything clear as day! The 2 way Microphone is great and I have it set on 2 phones and it lets another person talk through it on my side of the Camera to the person outside with no complications, So 3 of us talk through it together perfectly! It even lets you turn the camera left and right and zoom in also. I recommend this Camera to anyone who is after a cheap way to keep an eye on your house anywhere you are and knowing the battery has the potential to last months, I rate it 10/10 even with having to pay a subscription which I'm Happy to Do after trying all the features in the trial period you get with subscribing at the start and honestly it's not bad at $40 a Year or $4 a Month. One of the Best things I own!

If you think you could live without this doorbell buy one and try it i promise you will wonder how you went without. the app is user friendly and will take you step by step to get you up and running in about 5 -10 min also I can confirm that alexa dose work well with this device I’ve only had the device for about a week now and I feel safer knowing that I can check in wherever whenever. would also recommend buying the plug in chime alert unless you plan on just getting notifications off you’re cellular device

I live in a nice complex that’s fairly new, but I still get nervous when getting packages delivered, or if I’m home alone and hear a knock when my boyfriend isn’t home. I have 3 dogs, but it still makes me nervous. Having a ring camera gives me a peace of mind I can see who’s at my door without even having to move from where I’m at. It detects fairly far down my apartment halls. Can’t say much about how it works for night vision as there’s usually always lights on in my apartment hall. Otherwise, works great! Just don’t forget you’ll have to charge it first all the way which can take several hours before using it.

So far, the only ‘issue’ - admittedly a somewhat secondary one given that all we wanted was a doorbell on a side porch door… that most visitors go to rather than the front door that DID have a hardwired, mid-20th century doorbell… was that with strong backlighting at dawn or dusk, the camera appears to set its aperture based on average lighting instead of on the camera-side of the shadowy figures at the door. This forced me to put a dusk-to-dawn bulb in the side door porch light… which is probably a good thing anyway.

This was the first Ring product I've ever purchased & I am very happy I did! It was surprisingly easy to set up and almost as easy to install on the exterior. It only required a little bit of effort to drill into the exterior brick, but once that was done, things just snapped into place. The set up on the phone made the process very easy to do. Again, we are shocked at how easy it was. The picture is very clear and it has a very wide lense. I am very glad I got this!

I used this to catch a thief coming on my property at night to take my outside belongings. This ring I love it and perfectly does it’s job. I can watch live and see my home when I am away and talk into it. I love the live and the snapshot recordings. The monthly subscription is 3.99 well worth it. I have had the ring over a month and my battery is mid high 60 percent. When it gets lower I will easily take it down and charge it no big deal to me. Especially the price you can’t beat. I also get a lot of blue jays and cardinals that like to glide by the ring camera and chirp. And deers that come out of the woods into my yard. Pleasantly to watch 🤗 also I like the neighborhood watch surroundings.

I purchased this Ring doorbell camera for my daughter and son in law as a gift for their new house. I've had one for years now and am very happy with it. Ring doorbell cameras are relatively easy to install and set up and give you great peace of mind whether you are home or away. You can even set it up to get alerts for package detection. This is a great place to start with the Ring products, adding on other Ring cameras is easy too because they will all connect up to the same app with your doorbell.

Works perfectly! It was easy to install, as were the jumper cables for the existing chime. This was on sale at a great price, so I thought I'd take the chance and it's been working out great. We already have a Ring Spotlight cam above our garage, and this doorbell was easy to setup and integrate with our existing account.

Easy install and great image. In total I bought 5 Ring cameras to use on 3 of my properties. When on sale for $39 it was cheaper to buy and use one of the doorbells simply for the camera function vs the Ring outdoors stick up cam. In comparing the doorbell camera to the more expensive stick up camera...the doorbell camera look just as good.

We had a SimpliSafe doorbell. It would have trouble keeping its connection to wifi and would sometimes not activate night mode.

We decided to give Ring a shot. WOW! Amazing FOV (field of view), crisp day and night snapshots and video, an unbelievable amount of customizations, and ability to link to your community for alerts makes Ring a FAR superior choice when it comes to a video doorbell. It's ability to integrate seamlessly with Alexa is the cherry on the top.

In conclusion: The Ring doorbell is the gold standard for home protection. There are 3 items I have purchased from Amazon that I would recommend for everyone and a Ring doorbell is NUMBER 1 on this list. Buy it now! In fact buy a few. They would make thoughtful gifts.

Works like a charm so far! I was a little doubtful that this doorbell wasn’t going to work well by looking at some of the negative reviews but Im glad I got it!

It was super easy to installed (if you have the right tools)& I would say it only took us less than an hour.

The only thing I would recommend is buying the chime along side with it. I only have Alexas in certain rooms in my house and you are unable to hear the doorbell in others.

And the motion detection sure does work! I would just recommend adjusting the settings so it won’t ring every time a car passes by.

My Ring wired doorbell has been in black and white mode for a week, I saw something that said they were having some software issues and were working on it. I have called twice and have been told that “my issue has been escalated”, no other communication from Ring. Really poor technical support, you are calling India and they just take messages, no one helps. Really poor service!!

Had the video doorbell 2 which was constantly giving false reports and never worked properly but I thought that perhaps the #3 would be improved. What a mistake! It never covers the programmed areas properly and mostly misses everyone coming to the door, it constantly gives false reports, was never able to connect it with Alexa ( like it says it will ), was never able to talk to whoever was at the door, battery life is terrible so I had to get two batteries, and now it is almost constantly off line as the batteries don’t stay fixed in place and have to be reinserted at least 2-3 times a day.
Guess it works by making us go the front door constantly to fix the batteries!

It works great. Have it linked to Sonos speaker to tell us and Echo Show 5 with routine to show us when there is motion at the door. Sonos speaker linked to Alexa chimes when someone rings the doorbell. Great image and video. There is a slight delay but found that to be true with the ring camera. I guess nothing is perfect. We're an older couple, not extremely tech savvy, but it was pretty easy to install and get running. Overall, very pleased.

I finally got a doorbell, and I genuinely do love it. I love the options for quick replies if I'm unable to answer it, and I think the camera quality is great. Setup was a breeze, except I had to set it up on my Wifi only iPad due to the app not connecting to the device on my phone (even with cell service turned off, as recommended)

We just set up Ring devices (doorbells, motion detection lights and camera), and we're very happy with the Ring system. A wired doorbell is the better option where possible because the battery on a battery-powered doorbell (we also have one of those) needs regular recharging. Of course wired vs. battery operated is a tradeoff in cost.

The setup was easy in the Ring app and it worked even though my doorbell transformer was only giving 9v. The Ring app will link you directly to the transformer that you need ($25 USD). Replacing the transformer was no problem. Finding it is the only concern. Mine was located in the outlet box behind the mechanical bell chime. Some are also located next to the circuit breaker box. If you need to drill into brick like I had to, don't forget to put oil on the 1/4 inch drill bit occasionally or you'll ruin the bit...any oil will do.

Glad I replaced the Ring Doorbell Pro in one location with this. It gives you a larger view than the older Doorbell Pro, been holding connection perfectly and has great night vision. The birds eye view is kinda cool but kind of a gimmick too, so don't buy it just for that. Comes with a wedge mount but no flat mount. I have a PVC block the doorbell mounts to, so it was ok. But otherwise note you may need some kind of mounting kit.

I have friends who have had these and all great reviews and decided to finally get one and it turned out great. The sensor is sensitive and often picks up people walking the street in front of our house so we dialed the sensitivity back some. I’ve talked to contractors who’ve come to the house while I was away and it works great. You get to see when a package is delivered while at work. It relatively easy to install, it has a good guide that walks you through the steps and works using the wires from your existing doorbell, so no batteries to worry about. I like it.

The image when zooming in on far away things will only be as detailed as any reasonable person would expect when zooming into any other image. Downloading the video might be advisable for catching details at the beginning of the videos. The beginning of a motion alert video can be glitchy while the stream starts. I presume this isn't a limitation of the device, as much as it is the video buffering and streaming in the app. This isn't specific to this model either.

I have an alarm system that came with a wireless video doorbell that missed a lot of motion events due to a brick wall and a new steel door. I purchased and installed the Ring Video Doorbell Elite because it uses hardwired Ethernet instead of WiFi for video. I no longer miss motion events and have a better quality video capture. I opted to use a surface mount weather proof metal box instead of cutting into the brick. I included a couple of pictures that show the installation.

I am updating my review from below because its not longer valid. I noticed my Ring Elite was updated to firmware version 1.8.21. Now I'm getting full high def video. It now works exactly as advertised. I'll leave the old review just for edification. But as of 8/10/2017, the device works flawless.

I will start this by saying that I am a Network Engineer. In fact my specialty is Voice/Video over IP. My house has a very elaborate network inside of it that is of better quality than the average business network. I am providing an absolutely ideal network for this device to function within.

We were able to work with Ring and as a result have received a replacement doorbell under warranty because we are long time Ring Protect members. Thank you to Ring for following up and resolving the problem.

This is our second Doorbell Elite, the first one was a reconditioned unit bought on Amazon almost two years to the week from when it eventually failed. After spending more than an hour with Support trying to resolve the issue, it was determined that the unit was no longer emitting a Wi-Fi setup network and was preventing us from re-associating it to our account. It was decided that they would send us a replacement device until Support could not authenticate that the device was actually ours, even though I can prove it was bought on Amazon. (Ring is an Amazon company). It appears that the reconditioned device was still associated to the previous owner’s account and as a result Ring could not replace it under warranty. Tech Support said they would continue to work on it and would call me back. No call back. I eventually bought a new unit on Amazon since we really like it, along with our 9 other Ring devices. First issue we’ve had with a Ring product and unfortunately it wasn’t a great experience.

We were able to work with Ring and as a result have received a replacement doorbell under warranty because we are long time Ring Protect members. Thank you to Ring for following up and resolving the problem.

I got this because I am hard of hearing and I have an Alexa device in every room in the house. It wasn't hard to wire to the transformer I bought and gives a good view of the door and front yard. Sound pick-up is excellent. It hears the cars coming down the road a good bit before it can see them. It doesn't alert with my dogs, but I could set the sensitivity to do so. Good unit, although you have to pay for any extra services from the Ring company besides the basic answer the door, see who is there. It does have some storage on the device, but if you want to save anything you have to pay for it. When full it overwrites the files.

For years I have wanted to buy a ring doorbell but I was always too cheap or too nervous to buy one. During the last Prime day experience, I finally purchased one. I love it. I installed it completely on my own and didn't take much time at all. So glad I am finally part of the "ring family". I just wish we didn't have to pay for video clips to save but I know they all do that nowadays.

It worked good the first year but after warranty expired it started randomly disconnecting from WiFi. It’s possible although painful to manually go through steps to reconnect but that gets annoying if it keeps disconnecting again and again. Called Ring customer service and they don’t want to replace device as it’s just a few months out of warranty. They said I should have bought more warranty….maybe they configure the device only to last a year

I get alarm’s when someone is about a football field away. I have setup the alarm zones to avoid it. But I still get motion ringing outside of the zone. Night vision is awesome, great to be able to see at night. No problem with Wi-Fi. Just a problem with home pod incompatibility. Come on. If you want to charge for recording you can use that money towards paying apple instead of having to go in the ring app and than click on the feed to get live streaming.
